A Locavore's ThanksgivingHands-on class for beginning cooks. Learn the basics of making homemade foods using local ingredients. How to thaw, prepare, cook and carve a turkey, hands on bread making, perfect pie crusts, menu’s and recipes included.
Will take place at the Ada County Extension Office, 5880 Glenwood, Boise, Idaho.
Please RSVP by November 12th, as class size is limited - 377-2107. Cost is $15.00 and includes taste testing and handouts.

Taste of Idaho, Boise,IDThe fourth annual Taste of Idaho will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Qwest Arena. Great Idaho food and wine will be available to sample and purchase, local chefs will vie for prizes in a culinary competition featuring local foods and Idaho Magazine Recipe contestants will demonstrate their winning recipes. Tickets will be available only at the door for $5 each.
- Doors open at 10:00 am- 5:00 pm
- Wine and Beer tasting 12:00 noon-5:00 pm
Sampling glasses $5 each- glass must be purchased to sample. - Chef Competition featuring all-Idaho products 10:00 am- 3:30 pm
