FEBRUARY 27 Treasure Valley Farmers Market Workshops - Meridian, ID
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is partnering with the University of Idaho Extension service to provide training for markets in the areas of marketing, promotion, and business planning. There will also be break-out sessions with topics specific to markets managers and vendors. This workshop will be held at the Ada County Weed and Pest Building in Meridian, Idaho on Saturday February 27, from 8:30am-4:00pm. For more information contact Lacey Menasco at 332-8538.

MARCH 1 Farmer-Chef Collaborative - Moscow
Farmers, ranchers, and chefs will have the unique opportunity to discuss ways to source fresh, local agriculture to local foodservice venues at the 2010 North Idaho Farmer-Chef Collaborative. Held in Moscow on March 1, this interactive event, fashioned after the popular “Speed Dating”, pairs buyers and sellers to facilitate one-on-one discussions to bring more local product into foodservice facilities.

If you are a producer of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, wines, processed products, or other products, plan to attend this event to meet with key foodservice buyers. PRODUCER registration

MARCH 6 Eastern Idaho Farmers Market Workshop, Pocatello, ID
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is partnering with Three Rivers RC&D to provide training for markets in the areas of marketing, promotion, and business planning. There will also be break-out sessions with topics specific to markets managers and vendors. This workshop will be held at the Newberry Building in Pocatello on Saturday March 6 from 8:30am - 4:00pm. MARCH 13 North Idaho Farmers Market Workshop, Moscow, ID
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is partnering with the University of Idaho Extension Service and local markets to provide training for markets in the areas of marketing, promotion, and business planning. MARCH 31 Foodservice Promotion Program
One of the fastest growing trends in the food industry is to eat locally. Idaho Preferred has designed a program to assist Idaho restaurants who use local products on their menus. The Foodservice Promotion Program provides funding to help restaurants reprint menus or advertise their restaurant’s use of local products. APRIL (TBD) Farmer-Chef Collaborative Event
Great networking opportunities for chefs and local producers will be the highlight of the Farmer-Chef Collaborative event held in a Magic Valley/Sun Valley location yet to be determined. Collaborative events foster profitable, lasting relationships among local producers and area restaurants dedicated to serving fresh, quality Idaho agriculture.
